MUSIC APPRECIATION

Wednesdays, 3–4 pm, SFC

On the first two Wednesdays of January, we’ll finish our study of music from the Romantic Period of classical music with the music of Peter Tchaikovsky and examining 19th century “Nationalism” in music. For the remaining three Wednesdays, we’ll look at the origin and history of American Country Music beginning in the early 1920s and the Grand Ole Opry. We’ll conclude with performers like George Strait and Garth Brooks in the ’80s.

Join instructors Ann and Lee Strong as we leap from music of the Romantic Period to American Country Music. Attendees: Call (310) 377-3003 to RSVP.
